The Kardashian family always seems to stay near the top of the hot celebrities’ list. The relationships between the three Kardashian sisters and their men seem to always have new twists and turns. The most recent happenings between Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom might interest some of our California readers.
Most of our readers probably know that 10 months ago, Khloe filed for divorce from Odom. In all those months, Odom reportedly hasn’t yet responded to the divorce filing. His lack of legal response means that Khloe is now stuck in limbo.
It is now decision time for this Kardashian sister. She has to decide if she really wants to continue to pursue this divorce.
If she wants to move forward with it, she must file a Request to Enter a Default. That filing would give her the right to get a divorce without having to try to get Odom to respond. In order to file for this request, she has to be unable to find Odom or show that he didn’t respond to her divorce petition within 30 days of being served with it.
If she decides that she doesn’t want to divorce Odom, she can choose to file a Request for Dismissal. This means that she and Odom would remain married.
Khloe Kardashian’s current situation sheds light on an important aspect of divorce in California. A spouse can’t simply hide out in an effort to stop a divorce, especially in a case that doesn’t involve children. Taking this lesson to heart means that anyone facing divorce as the petitioner or respondent should be aware of how the laws affect his or her rights.
