Technology has infiltrated nearly every aspect of the lives of individuals residing in Placer County, including child support matters. This is illustrated by the recent launch of an app designed to make it easy for parents in California to check the status of their child support accounts. The app, CAChildSup, was launched by the California Department of Child Support Services.
Raising children is an expensive proposition that few fully comprehend before becoming parents. This is true whether parents of children stay in a relationship or decide to end it. For many custodial parents in the state of California, child support from the noncustodial parent of their child is a necessity to make ends meet. The payments a custodial parent will receive from the other parent are based on a statutory formula.
Because it is a formula that is used to determine child support payments it is important that the correct numbers are inputted into it. A variety of information is relevant in addition to how much each parent makes. Other things that are taken into account include the amount spent on medical expenses for the children, how much time each parent spends with the children and how much daycare costs.
With the hectic lives so many parents currently lead, many in California will likely take advantage of the new app. Individuals with both Android and Apple devices will be able to download it.
